7 tips to become bob painting master.!!

Bob painting master and the paintings he created,  gained
huge fame and are still remembered by his audience.

If you are just starting out with bob painting,  these tips
will help you get a good start.

Bob Ross – The man was always so laid back and his voice always so calm and peaceful. Bob painting started when he was posted in Alaska by the air force.

Bob painting was taught by using the wet-on-wet oil painting method where the artist keeps adding paint on top of wet paint as opposed to waiting for each layer to dry, which can be time consuming.

7 Tips:

1/ When I first started bob painting technique I basically started
out with small canvases and worked my way up, my best size canvas now is
24″x 20″.

2/ Brushes are the bob painting medium used to convey what’s inside the
artist’s soul, they are your outlet. Scrub your dirty brushes against the canvas to prime it or liquid white it.
DO NOT use your good brushes to prime your canvas.

3/ Purchase a larger tube of Titanium White,  as you will be using more of this color.

4/ Baby oil is also an excellent conditioner for your brushes.

5/ Dry your larger brushes by carefully squeezing them against the inside of
the coffee can, then slapping the bristles against a brush beater rack mounted inside of a tall kitchen trash basket to remove the remainder of the  thinner.

6/ You will need a good stable easel to paint on otherwise your canvas
will wobble around when you paint.  This is not good as you will use
tapping motions when doing bob painting.

7/ The use of proper bob painting equipment helps assure the best possible results in your painting.

Wet on wet painting technique from bob Ross and the skills you will need for learning the wet on wet painting technique.

The wet on wet painting technique from bob Ross is a unique way for people or artists to do there artwork.

When starting you must apply the fresh layers of paint over an already wet base coat of liquid white.

Bob Ross wet on wet painting technique is an interesting, quick, and fun way for all to start out in painting.

The oil paint colours from the bob Ross range can then be blended using the different brushes, or the knife that bob also used.

There is no end to the wonderful ways you can create paintings with this amazing wet on wet painting technique.

If you’ve never worked with painting knives, then i would recommended you give one a try.

You can paint full paintings with the knife when using the wet on wet painting technique, it is very different from traditional brush painting and can be done very fast if you want to.

Your first stroke of paint with a painting knife you will immediately see why they are used in this painting style.

This wet on wet painting technique is all about softening of hard edges and blending out most visible brush strokes on the canvas with a clean, dry brush.

Painted area’s are painted in with very light criss-cross strokes using a 2″ brush or by tapping with the corner of a 2″ brush. This gives the paint colours a soft and natural look.

Some oil paints are not suitable for this wet on wet painting technique – Some paints are too soft and will smear on your canvas when painting.

Only a thick, firm paint is suitable for this technique and I personally only use bob Ross oil paints.

With thicker paints already on your canvas and when adding highlight colors, some times you need to thin the paint.

LIQUID WHITE, LIQUID CLEAR or ODORLESS THINNER are used for this.
Remember what bob would say – ” a thin paint will stick to a thick paint “.

Paint waves are always a fascinating paintings to see in a seascape.

Scenes with paint waves crashing against a rocky shore just add style to a seascape painting.

Ocean scenes whether it is a rising or a setting sun the golden colours glowing across the moving water are just amazing to see and watch.

Paint waves in the ocean is an exciting idea. It’s a great project for artists and some artists say it a favorite hobby.

Shadow and sunlight shining on the paint waves can set the mood of the painting and need careful study when you create your paint waves.

Develop a strong personal style. Do this by learning to paint your favorite subjects in all the ways that every painter you like best has painted them.

The more you learn technique and understand your own passions, the more your own style will emerge with beautiful landscape pictures.

So having a personal style is a combination of learning to paint well in your favorite mediums with consistently paying the most attention to your favorite subjects.

Mastering a project and a medium comes later at the point when you could do it easily without thinking at all about how you do it and always have consistent results.

Learning art is a lifelong process just like beautiful landscape pictures, places or paintings. It has many benefits besides raising the value of your artworks.

It will keep your passions alive so that your art doesn’t become boring and it’ll keep you young even in your nineties because you’ve always got something cool to look forward to or look back at old painting you painted years ago.

When you learn, invent or change your style and your work becomes more valuable, older paintings you’ve done become more valuable too.

Enjoy art. This sounds like a no-brainer, but as you learn to paint better, you will observe the world more accurately.

Tip:  To stop your paintings from looking like a muddy mess.

Painting with a mixture of oil paint, You must do this in very thin layers and is called glazing. (as is so common when painting with oils).

It allows you to let other layers show through or change a color completely.
By making your layers a little thicker every time, you can control the amount of paint you use and how much detail you want to add.

The most detail layers should be done thickly and as the last layer.

Accept that you are creative.

Some people will happily inform you that they’re “creatives”,
while others are convinced you’re either born with it, or you’re not and they don’t think they have any creativity.

Any person has the potential to be creative and paint beautiful landscape pictures provided you want to give it a try and believe in your potential.

Creativity is a pathway to knowing yourself better and to creating balance in your life.

If you see it this way, rather than as being about something that only some people are gifted with, you’ll be better placed to find creativity within.

Not allowing yourself to be creative is like freezing over a part of yourself and denying yourself the tranquil focus that creativity brings to some beautiful landscape pictures that you may be able to paint.  See being creative as being good for you.

What makes a landscape artists..?

Are you a landscape artists.

The things that makes you a landscape artists.

What are the things that make you a landscape artists and
are you a landscape artists.

You or anyone can paint a landscape, however does this make you or them a landscape artists.

I have heard once or twice that for some one to be classed as an artists you have had to have sold or sell three peices of art and this is what makes you an artists.

I would NOT agree with this, As my opinion to this is if you make or paint and put some thing together as an art peice then you are an artists.

To make you a landscape artists I would say that if you only paint landscapes then this makes you one, A landscape artists.

When you paint and all you thik about painting is landscape or seascapes then you are most deffentlly an landscape artists.

How long you have been painting landscapes, I feel will not mean anything in making you a landscape artists as long as you can put a landscape painting together, you are doing what you need to do.

When you are painting and having fun and enjoying what you paint then this make you an artists or for whatever type of art it is you do.

Bob  ross was well know for his landscape artists skills and the many he teached would say he was the very best for landscape and seascapes.

Did you know that bob ross also painted flowers and animals very well too.

I’ am a landscape artists my self as I only paint landscapes and seascape,  I have had a go at painting flowers and animals but with not much success, flowers a bit better than my animals.

What I love about painting landscapes is the colours you can use or mix to create or paint whatever you want, if you see it in your mind then put it on your canvas.

Tip of the day:

Take a camera with you whenever you go out and when you see nice looking seens weather it be land or in the sky for clouds,trees, snap afew pictures.

Then the next time you get out the paints put your pictures to a good use for your paintings.

What I like to also do is take one part from one picture and
one from another, then paint these into my painting to make one landscape.

It’s fun to paint a water painting.!!

Will you have fun when trying to paint a water painting.

A water painting and how fun it is to paint a water painting.

Bob Ross was one painter who loved to paint a water painting, he always found it fun to put in waterfalls and ponds or a lake into his paintings.

Do you find it fun to paint a water painting. I do myself love to paint waterfalls and seascapes.

Whats your favorite painting to paint.

The most fun part about painting a water painting from bob’s technique is as you are painting along, you see things pop out in the canvas and suddenly think that’s where I see a waterfall and simply add it in or a small pond.

The fun comes when you can see all the things coming to life in your water painting and you make them look real.

When a friend or family member say ” WOW what a painting ” the feelings you take from this is fun and makes the hole thing worth your time and you begin to have fun when painting.

Also making it more enjoyable and fun, you can start looking for more things to paint.

Let’s take a look at a seascapes and when you paint a water painting of a seascape and bring it all to life, imagine when you have big crashing waves hitting the beach or some big rocks.

The fun in painting this and the thought’s you have to yourself,  I created or I painted this, There maybe time when you sell a painting and the feeling this will bring you.

Just knowing  that your painting is hanging somewhere on some ones wall bring them the fun and joy that you painted.  WHAT A FEELING.

I have sold about 20 odd painting myself and love the
feeling i get every time some one want’s to have my work on there wall.

I feel as so many people love the beach a seascape water paintings are one of the paintings that people want to buy the most.

So how much fun would you be having when painting a water painting for yourself creating a small pond or large seascape or even a running steam.

Have A Happy Painting Day With Bob Ross.

You are always happy painting when painting with bob Ross.

Happy painting with bob Ross is one of the best ways you can find to be calm and help you to relax.

Once you have learn’t all the skills needed for his wet on wet happy painting technique and you paint your pictures you may have found a way for inner peace,  going in your mind to the places you paint or create.

This is one of mine and it make me think of snowboarding or skiing and very cold winters day…

When you are happy painting with bob you will find a
world of freedom in your paintings and the worlds you create.

Bob was the best instructors and helped millions of people all over the world with how to paint a happy painting or as he called it a happy little tree.

With bob Ross happy painting technique you can not make a mistake but happy accidents as bob would say, I can say my self this is true.

For if you feel you have mad a mistake when happy painting,

Tip for what to do:

Take your knife just above your mistake and scrape off
the paint by scraping downwards, take a 2″ brush and from left to right, and right to left blend out all the painted area
you scraped off, now start happy painting again over the area..

I also find when I’am happy painting from bob I go into a world of my own or a zone to focus my painting for what I’am trying to create.

How many of you also find this when you are painting a happy painting.

Bob was always a calming person when I would watch him on his TV show and found looking and seeing him paint the wonderful paintings he did,  It made me always want to get out the canvas and paint, and still does today.

Heres a fun way to watch bob..ha ha

How you can learn to paint a picture with bob Ross videos.

Can you learn to paint a picture from bob Ross videos simply  “ yes “  but there are some more skills to learn how.

I will try to help you in this post today.

I have been painting the bob Ross wet on wet technique for about five to 6 years now.

How I learn’t to paint a picture was just this ways
from watching many bob Ross videos.

Mainly from seeing his TV show and also buying and reading many of his books.

Now watching bob paint a picture on his TV show is fun and enjoyable.

However is hard to paint from,  I found the easiest way is if you own your own copies of bob Ross videos.

Just for the fact you can stop start and pause it on your DVD player, then you can paint a picture.

To get started I say from your bob Ross videos, look for how bob holds a brush and the way he moves his hand for the different things he paints.

Do the same with bob knife for the mountains and other things or ways he would paint a picture.

Pay close attention when he is painting in the highlight of the mountains as most can find this parts one of the most difficult.

Look out for all the little movements he make with
his hands when painting. You will find your paintings turn
out a little better when you try this out.

just if it is to improve your techniques a bit.

paint colours from bob Ross is giving you an insight for what colours do what, for when you use these paint colours..

First I will give you the list of paint colours
you use to paint with from bob Ross.

Alizarin Crimson,  Bright Red,  Cadmium Yellow,  Dark Sienna,  Indian Yellow,  Midnight Black,  Phthalo Blue, Phthalo Green,  Prussian Blue,  Sap Green,
Titanium White,  Van Dyke Brown,  Yellow Ochre.

Paint colours from bob ross!!For me these paint colours are used for the landscape paintings and also seascapes.  Bob Ross also painted flowers and animals using different paints.  Also used for making lavender paint colour.

Alizarin Crimson, can be used for dark red skies it can be used in water and also added to the mountains, very deep red colour.

Bright Red, can be used for adding a little pink glow to your
clouds, also in tree leave and you can also add to grass areas and bushes. Paint colours from bob ross!!

Cadmium Yellow, when you add a dark colour to it,it makes some wonderful greens for trees grass and bushes, is also used for making a sun and glow around the sun. can also be added to the eye of your waves in seascape.

Dark Sienna, is mainly used for making browns and added to make trees and I personally like to use this paint colour for adding highlights to my rocks.

Indian Yellow,  For yellowing also around the sun,and makes lovely sandy refection in seascapes.  Also used for adding  different paint colours to your bushes.

Midnight Black,  One of my best paint colours and mainly makes background colours and mixes well for mountains mixed with other dark paint colours.  Also good for painting birch trees.

Phthalo Blue,  I like to make lite sky blues for spring and summer paintings. This blue also make wonderful colour waters for the sea and mixed with a little sap green is gives the water some extra tints of colour.

Phthalo Green, Can be added to seas water for greenish colour water, also used for add leaves for high tall trees.

Prussian Blue, used for mountains and making the lavender colour,also used for most background, for trees and bushes then highlighted. Very good paint colour for using on black gesso base coat.

Sap Green, Mixed with Alizarin Crimson makes a wonderful brown paint colour used for big fat tree trunks.  Can also make lovely tree leaf paint colours.

Titanium White,  Makes clouds water and snow on the floor and snow top cabins.  Highlights for mountains water line which separates where land meets the water. Makes lovely waterfalls and mist floating around the mountains and waterfalls.

          

Buy bulk to save money or can buy each  paint colours separate at the simons bob ross shop.

Van Dyke Brown,  Mostly makes trees and trunks, branches,also good for putting in land areas around lakes and ponds.  Makes good pebbles and stones on lake edges. Can also big high land areas for holding back waterfalls.

Yellow Ochre.  Makes brown yellowish paint colour bushes and can be used for tree top paint colours. Can also be blended around sun in your sky’s. Paint colours from bob ross!!

These paint are made for the wet on wet technique from bob Ross and are firmer than other oil paint colours and brands.

I use these paint for my own wet on wet painting and if you are looking to start paint in this style. I would highly recommend these paint colours.
